A passage ran from the entrance of the old temple right into the interior of the structure. It was overgrown with jungle vines and undergrowth. The air smelt stale and musty. There was a long stone passageway which sloped downwards. The walls of the passage were carved over with figures and designs. It became darker further down the passage. The long passage was connected to a very large passage that was covered with inscriptions in a strange language. The passage led to a vast hall with a raised dais in the centre and an opening at the top. An altar resembling a flat sacrificial table stood in the centre of the dais. The front of the altar was carved the great winged beast.
